Handala Never Dies… The 39th Commemoration of Martyr Palestinian Cartoonist Naji Al-Ali

“Handala was born out of the pain of the Nakba, remaining a witness to the moment a homeland was stolen, carrying the memory of the land, homes, and roads... a voice for the voiceless.”

Cartoon Home Network International (CHNI) is pleased to invite cartoonists and visual artists from around the globe to participate in this International Virtual Cartoon Exhibition. This initiative pays tribute to the artistic and intellectual legacy of the late master Naji Al-Ali, affirming the enduring vitality of his immortal human symbol, Handala.

Exhibition Themes:

• Portraits & Tributes: Artworks honoring the legacy of Naji Al-Ali.

• The Spirit of Handala: Artworks evoking Handala as a symbol of resilience, resistance, the right of return, and justice.

• Human Rights & Freedom: Cartoons reflecting themes of liberty, human dignity, and opposition to injustice.

Submission Guidelines & Criteria:

• Number of Submissions: Each cartoonist may submit between 1 to 3 works.

• Technical Specifications:

1- Both digital and traditional hand-drawn works (high-resolution scans) are accepted.

2- Resolution: 300 DPI in JPG or PNG format.

3- Required Information:

• Cartoonistt’s full name + Country.

• A concise biography (2–3 lines).

• Artwork title(s) (if applicable).

Key Dates & Venue:

Submission Deadline: August 10, 2026.

• Exhibition Opening: August 28, 2026.

• Venue: The virtual exhibition will be showcased on the official CHNI Facebook page.
