Great Man and Great Croatian Cartoonist "Damir Novak" Has Tragically Passed Away /(1960-2026)

It is with great sadness that we inform the public that our longtime member and colleague Damir Novak has tragically passed away .

"Damir was killed, shot by his neighbor, who had lost a legal dispute over a property boundary. After killing Damir, the murderer committed suicide; he was drunk at the time."

He has been a member of HDK since 1986. in several years he also acted as a member of the Executive Board of the Society. He made a special contribution to the organization of international festivals and exhibitions, especially through his work with young authors, leaving a deep mark on the Croatian and international cartoon scene.

We will remember him as a devoted artist, a colleague with a big heart, always ready to help, share advice and encourage others. His departure is an irreparable loss to our profession and to all who knew him.
