Competition closed - award ceremony on April 1, 2022

In the autumn of 2021 Cultuursmakers, then still known as vtbKultuur, went looking for cartoonists from home and abroad who wanted to participate in a competition on the theme 'Culture connects people'.

With each entry, our culture heart beat faster. On December 31, 2021, we clocked in at no fewer than 1,013 cartoons submitted by 375 cartoonists from 61 different countries (from all continents except Antarctica).

A professional jury is currently examining the entries. The winners will be announced on Friday 1 April 2022 during the award ceremony in Deinze.

The 30 best cartoons will be bundled in an exhibition that will travel through Flanders for months from April.
