Winners Of The 52nd International Humor Exhibition " Piracicaba"/Brazil2025
The organizing committee of the 52nd International Humor Exhibition of Piracicaba has officially announced the winners of this year’s edition, which attracted more than 2,000 submissions from artists worldwide. Out of these, 384 works by 202 artists representing 22 countries were selected for the official show.
The Winners:
Grand Prize and Sculpture Award: Rui Miranda - Brazil.
The winning sculpture impressed the jury with its originality and symbolic force. At first sight, the piece shows the character No-Face from Miyazaki’s Spirited Away. When opened, it reveals a vibrant caricature of Hayao Miyazaki at work, surrounded by papers and pencils.
Caricature: Emerson Boca - USA
A female figure with Indigenous features, built with vibrant colors and geometric patterns that celebrate cultural ancestry.
Thematic Prize – Climate Justice: Carol Ito - Brazil
Contrasts promise and reality: the Paris Agreement’s projection of +1.5°C versus the actual trajectory of +2.4°C, depicted as a planet in flames.
Comic Strip: Rodrigo da Silveira - Brazil
Visual humor in role reversal: cows suggesting chicken consumption, while a chicken encourages eating beef.
Cartoon: Rafael Correa - Brazil
A fly at dinner preferring to take a photo before eating – a satire on digital behavior.
Health Prize: Rafael Correa - Brazil
A man asking Alexa to turn off the voices in his head – a humorous critique of emotional fragility and dependence on technology.
Editorial Cartoon (Charge): Alisson Affonso (Brazil)
Denouncing environmental destruction and violence against Indigenous peoples, with a burning figure contrasted against a distant farmer.
City Council Prize: Asier Sanz - Spain
A political caricature crafted from everyday objects such as toilet paper rolls and crumpled sheets, turning the banal into sharp satire.
