Selected Cartoonists Of The 1st International Cartoon Competition "The Mysteries of Huhla 2026" /Bulgaria

Theme: "Huhla – the Center of the World".

A total of 150 cartoons by 87 artists have been submitted so far to the Huhla, the Centre of the World contest, which will take place in the village of the same name

near Ivaylovgrad. Participants come from five continents and 29 countries, the organizers of the competition said Monday. This will be the first edition of the contest,

which will be part of the traditional Mysteries of Huhla Festival.

The fifty best works will be exhibited in the village hall. There, the awards determined by an international jury will be presented on September 6.

The first prize is EUR 1,000, the second is EUR 700, and the third is EUR 500.

The Federation of Cartoonists Organisations (FECO) rated the contest with 4 out of 6 stars, which is a recognition for the event, said Ivan Bunkov, organizer of the

cartoon competition and the Mysteries of Huhla Festival, as quoted in the press release.

Haskovo-based cartoonist Jivko Tenev-Gissen told BTA tha the idea for the contest was his. "I sent invitations by email to over 1,000 colleagues whose email addresses

I have," he specified, adding that the prize fund is provided by Ivan Bunkov’s Hohla Foundation.
